OKX Review
Quick take
OKX offers exchange, wallet, and earning products, but the available yield menu depends heavily on location and investor status. In the United States, the most relevant retail option is generally the USDG rewards program. U.S. On-chain Earn is restricted to accredited and institutional investors, while the broader international platform offers products that may not be available to U.S. customers.
How earning works
Eligible U.S. customers can earn rewards by holding at least 1 USDG in supported OKX accounts. OKX funds the rewards, calculates them from eligible balances, and distributes them weekly. USDG does not need to be locked and may remain usable for supported trading, funding, or collateral functions. Rates are variable and can be changed by OKX.
OKX also operates an On-chain Earn service that routes supported assets into staking protocols. For U.S. customers, that service requires accredited-investor or institutional eligibility and charges a 15% service fee on rewards, reflected in the displayed APY. Network-specific bonding, redemption, and slashing conditions still apply.
Outside the United States, you may also see Simple Earn, staking, structured products, and promotions. Dual Investment is not ordinary savings. Depending on the market price, you may receive a different asset at settlement. You can compare stablecoin interest rates, compare USDG interest rates, and compare crypto staking platforms.
Rates, fees, and requirements
The U.S. USDG reward rate can change and is not a fixed deposit contract. You need the minimum USDG balance, identity verification, and an eligible account. OKX also advertises a separate X Layer wallet campaign with different rates and exclusions. That campaign is not the standard U.S. exchange rate, and U.S. customers cannot join it.
For U.S. On-chain Earn, displayed APYs are after the 15% service fee. Minimums, supported networks, reward cadence, and redemption times vary by asset. International Simple Earn and structured-product rates may be tiered, quota-limited, or available only for a fixed subscription window.
Custody and key risks
Exchange-held balances carry OKX custody and account-access risk. USDG is intended to track the U.S. dollar, but it remains a digital asset with issuer, reserve, liquidity, and depeg risk; it is not a bank deposit. On-chain products add protocol, validator, smart-contract, and delayed-redemption risk. Structured products add settlement and market-direction risk and may return a different asset than the one deposited.
Related features
OKX provides spot trading, a self-custody wallet, X Layer access, event contracts, trading bots, and institutional services. Check the regional site and your signed-in account because international marketing pages can describe features unavailable in the United States.
Best for
Best for eligible customers who want OKX trading and wallet tools alongside USDG rewards, or accredited U.S. investors who specifically understand the terms of On-chain Earn.
